Emma Burton is a Clinical Psychologist who has worked in community mental health since 2018.
Emma works with youth and adults across a broad range of clinical issues including depression, anxiety and stress, grief and loss, posttraumatic stress disorder, adjustment difficulties, substance use, emotion regulation difficulties, schizophrenia and psychotic illness.
Emma tailors her clinical intervention to meet the unique needs of each client, drawing upon her training in a variety of evidence-based treatments including: Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Mindfulness-based interventions. She is experienced in working with complex mental health presentations, and providing therapeutic interventions to both individuals and groups.
Emma has a warm, compassionate, and down-to-earth therapeutic style. She is committed to helping her clients find ways to enhance their quality of life, while learning new skills to overcome their mental health challenges.
Emma is an AHPRA Board Approved Supervisor and is able to provide group and individual supervision to Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists, and Clinical Psychology Registrars.
