Referral
Anyone can consult with a mental health professional without a referral. However, with a Mental Health Care Plan under the Better Access to Mental Health Initiative, you are entitled to a Medicare rebate for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. To obtain a Mental Health Care Plan, you will be required to make an appointment with your General Practitioner (GP) or psychiatrist, and request a Mental Health Care Plan to see a psychologist. To be eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan, you must be assessed by your GP or psychiatrist as suffering from a mental disorder.
Fees
Clinical Psychologist - $250.00 per 50 minute session
Medicare Rebate - $141.85
Our costs remain significantly lower than that recommended by the Australian Psychological Society. For more information contact calmplacepsychology@outlook.com.au or 8269 8188
Rebates
Clients referred by a GP or psychiatrist with a Mental Health Care Plan are eligible to receive a Medicare rebate. If Medicare has your bank account details registered to receive rebates, this can be processed on the day of your appointment. If Medicare does not already have your bank account details registered to receive rebates, consider registering now by telephone on 132 011.
Private health insurance providers also offer rebates depending on type and level of cover. Any private health insurance policy which includes psychology will attract a rebate for our associated services. Please contact your provider for details. Note that private health rebates cannot be used in conjunction with Medicare rebates for the same session.
